In case you didn’t recognise the quote it is from the immortal song, Camelot. Whilst Puglia cannot lay claim to a perfect climate unless you are one of those who thrive on hot and sunny year-round, it is perhaps as close as it can get. With a long, hot and sunny summer and a mild winter, a touch of spring between and no real autumn it is, for us, about as perfect it gets.
So when should you plan to visit Puglia? We are often asked when is the best time to visit Puglia. The short answer is anytime. Personal preferences need to be taken into consideration. Do you like a hot and sunny holiday, to relax and chill on the beach by the pool? Then mid-June through to the end of August is for you. Do you want to explore the area with days out combined with beach and pool relaxation days? If so consider May to the middle of June and September.
However, if you want to really explore, learn more about the culture, history, architecture, food, wine and the people then the months of October, November, March and April are the best. Certainly, consider December through February too but be prepared for chilly evenings and possibly quite a bit of rain.
Here you will find information about Puglia at different times of the year, we share our experiences of October holidays, how the Italians celebrate national public holidays throughout the year, what to expect and when. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or
